How It Works

We pair you up with one of our product designers that'll take you through our product development process. Our process is made up of strategic modules & design deliverables. As you'll see when checking out (or on the landing page), we offer three different versions of this process.

Below, we'll walk you through the complete version of our process. As you'll see, each deliverable flows into the next one, building momentum & implementing feedback along the way.

Research

3 Deliverables

Meant to ensure that all stakeholders are on the same page, this first phase analyzes the competitive landscape & double-checks all key market research findings:

  • Competitor & Inspiration Analysis
  • User-Product Surveys
  • User Personas

Competitor & Inspiration Analysis

Our very first deliverable, the C&IA serves three purposes. First, we survey the market landscape to identify a clear, open segment; this, in turn acts as the starting point of the marketing message. Last, it helps us capture your vision for the project - what are your favorite products? What do you think is an example of great design?

Market Research Survey

Next, we need to thoroughly check all product assumptions by talking directly to potential users. The first milestone that kickstarts a community, the market research survey is used to identify common behavioral/product, demographic & psychographic trends among likely potential users.

User Personas

A fictional representation of the ideal user or customer, the user persona is generally based on the trends identified in the Market Research survey. This includes, but is not limited to the demographics, needs, goals, & observed behavior patterns of your target audience. Some, but not all products will require multiple.

Mapping

4 Deliverables

The goal here is to construct a seamless core user experience. We do this by both nailing the most important CTA & by thinking through  every edge-case scenario:

  • User Journey Map
  • UX Wireframes
  • User Personas
  • User Interviews I

User Journey Map

A user-focused behavioral & psychological analysis of our ideal customer as they walk-through the most critical path in our future app. The main exercise here is to write out, step-by-step, the feelings, thoughts & opportunities presented as our ideal customer moves through our app to accomplish his or her main goal.

UX Wireframes

With the core path fleshed out, we now switch to an engineering mindset to find every edge-case. UX Wireframes are developer-focused basic shape & arrow diagrams that outline all possible user interactions; this deliverable focuses on thinking through every supplementary user path.

Greyscale Prototype

Greyscale mockups are exactly what they sound like — strictly white, black, & grey renderings of an entire product. It’s a natural evolution of the UX Wireframes. The color palette is left in greyscale in order to constrain our focus & decision-making on color-agnostic UX elements. We'll then piece together an Inivision protothype & share with all potential users to iterate, iterate, iterate.

User Interviews I

With the core path fleshed out, we now switch to an engineering mindset to find every edge-case. UX Wireframes are developer-focused basic shape & arrow diagrams that outline all possible user interactions; this deliverable focuses on thinking through every supplementary user path.

Design

3 Deliverables

Traditional, pixel-perfect design work is done here; this culminates with the very first visual representation (in greyscale) of what your final product could look like:

  • Branding & UI Kit
  • High-Fidelity Prototype
  • User Interviews II

Branding & UI Kit

The branding & UI kit is a design & marketing document that summarizes values & provides a set of consistent elements.  From values to colors, gradients, borders, shadows, this is where the feel is finally visually fleshed out. This document naturally leads to the next iteration of our greyscale prototype.

Polish

2 Deliverables

Walk away with a proud product prototype that is both validated & polished. Our goal is to help leverage the process to land your very first sale or seed round investment.:

  • Landing Page
  • Seed Or Sales Deck

Landing Page

An early email list is a major key to a successful launch. The best way to build that list is by piecing together a beautiful landing page worthy of the prototype we've built. Using all the previous assets up to this point, we'll make sure to maximize convergence for any early adopters.

Seed | Sales Deck

The most certain type of validation is financial. Whether it's your very first sale, or the very first financing check, our goal is to get you across the finish-line with a pristine, professional deck.
